announced the availabiliy of various hotfixes for Nearpoint
versions 3.5.5, 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. These hotfixes can be

Mimosa are
pleased to announce the GA of NearPoint 3.5.5
This release includes the new Grace Period Protection
retention policy support in addition to a number of bug
fixes and improved stability across NearPoint
New Retention Policy - Grace Period Protection
NearPoint introduces an additional retention policy rule
called Grace Period Protection (GPP). This policy allows
organisations to set up a grace period for their employees
to delete their personal and unwanted emails from their
mailboxes. Emails deleted within the grace period are not
retained in the NearPoint archive. The Grace Period
Protection (GPP) style retention also allows administrators
to configure Data Protection style retention for items
deleted within the grace period and Archive Retention style
retention thereafter. For example, the admin can create a
GPP style retention policy for a mailbox and configure the
grace period to be 90 days, the Data Protection period to be
1 day and Archive Retention period to be 5 years. With this
policy, if a message is deleted within 90 days, it would be
deleted from the archive after 1 day and if the message is
not deleted within 90 days, it will be retained for 5 years.
The Grace Period Protection feature also includes a
client-side Microsoft Outlook add-in component for tracking
messages moved to PST files for exclusion from deletion for
grace period protection. This add-in is supported only in
Microsoft Outlook 2007 environment and can be selectively
enabled by the NearPoint administrator.
This release is available for download in the fulfilment
portals of all customers who either have not implemented
NearPoint or are on version 3.0 or higher |

This is to inform
you that Hotfix (MKB) 34716 for NearPoint 3.5.4 has been
released.
This is a MANDATORY hotfix for customers on NearPoint 3.5.4
with multiple blob databases.
Do NOT apply this hotfix unless you are on NearPoint 3.5.4
AND have multiple blob databases!
The following issue has been addressed:
In rare occurrences the NearPoint Retraction job might
create data corruption when there are multiple blob
databases.
