Remote users and mobile devices have increasingly connected to the network from remote locations using VPNs. Performing just authentication does not help ensure the remote devices are safe and up to date.

Remote systems are partially managed by users themselves. Over time, these systems will exhibit a disparity between desired and actual configurations. Outdated antivirus software and operating systems can result in systems with vulnerabilities that can be exploited.

CyberGatekeeper Remote: The Solution

CyberGatekeeper Remote sits between the remote access point and the corporate network. It audits all networked systems continuously for policy compliance. Unqualified systems attempting to access the network are automatically blocked and redirected for remediation.

CyberGatekeeper Remote can detect mobile and fixed endpoint. CyberGatekeeper Remote has the following attributes:

How CyberGatekeeper Remote Works

CyberGatekeeper Remote sits between the VPN, remote access server and the corporate network. Access to the corporate network is restricted until CyberGatekeeper Remote audits the remote system and verifies that it complies with security policies that have been uploaded to it.

The CyberGatekeeper Remote system consists of three components. CG Server, CG Policy Manager, and CG Agent. Together, these work in conjunction to provide full security management and monitoring. In addition, CyberGatekeeper can be configured to work specifically with CyberArmor to provide a more extensive enforcement solution for systems not connected to the corporate network.

After the VPN or dial up connection is established, CG Agent reports information about the remote system to CG Server. CG Server audits this information based on its policies for conformance with the corporate network, then allows access if the audit passes. Criteria for the audits are provided through CG Policy Manager, which creates the audits that are transferred to CG Server.

If an endpoint fails to comply with the policy, CyberGatekeeper returns a message to the user indicating the appropriate step to take, and may include an option to self-remediate through a patch or update. The remote user can then update their system as required before logging in again
